This article provides an overview of forest animals, their habitat and the functioning of a forest.
Forests provide habitat for many animals. Here they find food and shelter at the same time. In tree
crowns, shrubs and shrubs or on the ground - each animal occupies its own place.
Hedges and meadows are often located at the edge of forests. Would you like to know which animals
live in hedges and which animals live in hedges?
Climate protection, "air filter" oxygen production A forest is exactly like a building with four
floors or so-called "layers": forest floor, medicinal layer, shrub layer and tree layer. The more
sunlight falls through the tree-level canopy, the more the bushes and soil layer. Different animals
live in each level.
1. The layer of the tree
Birds mainly live at tree level and have their nests and breeding grounds there. In this area
they are best protected against predators living on land. Yet, mammals, such as squirrels or
pine martins, also climb higher. The squirrel even makes its home there, which is called "Dre".
Animals at the tree level Owl, Almond, Spoon, Squirrel, Ja, Cuckoo, Blackwood Wood, Pine Marten, Bat.
2. Shrub level (up to 16.4 feet; 5 meters)
Birds make nests in them and use shrubs to pick delicious fruits (such as rowan berries, slugs,
raspberries). Many shrubs have thorns, which protect birds from prey. As the shrubs reach a height
of 4.9 feet (1.5 m), they protect the deer from bad weather and predators.
Shrubbery: Blackbird, Sting, Robin, Dormhouse, Squirrel, Hazel Dormouse, Deer
3. Herbaceous level (4.9 ft; up to 1.5 m)
Insects are mainly found in ferns of grass and vegetation layers. Plants provide protection and food.
The more sunlight reaches the level through the canopy of leaves, the more plant shrubs grow and
develop at the herbivorous level. If too much sunlight is not available, the plants are also rather unnecessary.
Medicinal animals: bees, seeds, beetles, butterflies, caterpillars, arrows, foxes, brown rabbits, fly in the fire.
4. Forest floor (directly to the ground)
Algae, lichen, mushrooms and leaves cover the forest soil. Insects, spiders and reptiles are found there,
but there are also mammals such as rats and hedgehogs. Nutritious soil provides food for many animals.
For animals that dig small holes and tunnels in the ground, it also provides an opportunity to hide something.
Animals on the forest floor: Millipedes, common lizards, insects, spiders, salamanders, woodluses, beetles, slugs.
Interesting facts about forest trees:
Forests are usually named after their type of tree: e.g.
Broadleaf Forest: Elm, Willow, Alder Tree, Birch
Cone forest: pines, spruce
Mixed forest: A mixture of broadleaf and coniferous forest
Forests are also named according to their geographical location, climate or composition. The hilly
forest is clearly located in the hilly region. Wetlands are found in rather wet and humid and wetland
areas. South American rain forests are especially known for their humid climate.
Forests are a great place to meet the huge diversity of life. These are necessary for life on earth.
These affect the wood we use in our lives in many ways. Eight of the 10 species found on land live in
forests and about 300 million people, especially in developing countries, also live in forests.
